Well, it’s been a sickly three and a half weeks but I came off my antibiotics yesterday. The cure was nearly as bad as the cause, as I was on a double dose of strong antibiotics and had some bad side effects including vertigo and nausea if I did so much as move my head to one side on the pillow…
Thankfully I’m feeling a good bit better today, so should be back to work next week after yet another visit to the doctor (I’ve had more doctor visits this past month than in my whole life!).
Thanks to all for the good wishes, they helped!
And now, to check all those e-mails that are building up: 2320 on my work account and 2693 on my personal…

You have our permission to declare email bankruptcy in order to return to work with a clear head.
Ignore all the potb stuff. I’ve been taking care of it.
Thanks Martin - actually you may have noticed I enabled images yesterday, using the fantastic phpThumb we can locally cache blog image thumbnails on our server so that they don’t have to be loaded from multiple remote sites each time.
John, you poor thing, glad you’re feeling better.
John: I noticed alright - and you enabled full posts. Hopefully we won’t get any “interesting” pics appearing.
I have a few emails waiting for you when you get throught the thousands built up while you were away. Nothing important, though, so no rush.
Bernie: I love the idea of email bankruptcy. I often declared it myself when working in office situations whenever I came back from leave.
Fáilte ar ais, John! Sounds like you had a very nasty dose.
Hi John
Great to hear that you’re over the worst of it. “delete all” for those work e-mails. The semantic web hasn’t disappeared in your absence - although its been a less pleasant place without you - and the really important e-mails will get re-sent. Don’t over do it when you do come back.
Good to have you back John. See you at the Irish Blog Awards!
