Flying Visit to Lorient

Lorient Tourisme, Site de l’Office de Tourisme du Pays de Lorient - Bretagne Sud - France (b0rked)

Went to Lorient for a flying visit at the weekend. The direct flight from Galway is excellent; there is the alternate one with a Waterford stopover which isn’t too bad either.

Stayed at the Mercure Hotel in the town centre which was very convenient and good value. They also gave us some good restaurant recommendations: Creperie St. Georges (serves delicious Breton “galettes”) and Le Bistrot Entre Terre et Mer (top-class food at an amazing price: €19.50 for three courses).

I was in Lorient a few weeks ago at the Festival and also found myself in the Creperie St. Georges. Really liked it.

Yes, it was very good! Galettes for those unfamiliar with the term are crepes made from buckwheat, usually served with savoury things like ham and eggs.
