Wrote some vBJournal to WordPress MU conversion scripts yesterday and today. There is a security exploit in vBJournal, and no sign of it being resolved. We are now running Donncha’s WordPress MU at blogs.boards.ie.
I’ve redesigned the main boards.ie page, and so far it has met with a very positive response. The new style is based on an old vBulletin stylesheet, and therefore it matches the forums section that little bit better. Still to do: I must adjust the templates of the news / chat / links / web sub-sections to use the new style. Respect to FreaK_BrutheR for his immortal “boardsmen” graphics.
So the latest Doctor Who series has come to an end, for those who haven’t watched it yet you should probably not click on the “more” link below as it contains spoilers. I can say that it was good!
But before I get on to that, I also watched the Smallville finale on E4 last night (again).

Cops Toss Irish from LA Hotel

AN Irish actor who was featured in Raging Bull and Titanic has hit out at Los Angeles cops after they aggressively broke up a sing song by Irish academics at the Beverly Hills Hilton last week.
As the title says, I’ve added Yahoo! Groups, Upcoming.org and Technorati feeds using irishblogs tags to Planet Of The Blogs. I’ve also separated bookmarks from photos, so it should be easier to see now what is what.

It’s official - Irish is an EU language
The Irish language overcame Dutch objections to win recognition as an EU official language yesterday, but the next challenge facing the Irish government will be to provide trained interpreters and translators.

Japan Today - News - Jenkins family leaves for U.S.
Interesting story about the former US army sergeant who deserted to North Korea during the cold war and was prevented up until now from returning to the US to visit his mother and family. His Japanese wife was one of those North Korean abductees, repatriated to Japan, and they have two North Korean-born children.
