Travelocity Buys LastMinute.com

Just heard on the radio that LastMinute.com are being bought for something like 850 million by Travelocity. Couldn’t find it on /. or the Register but maybe it’s too new…

You can get more stories about Travelocity and LastMinute from Google News.

In related news, I went to LastMinute and laughed at their boss page - harks back to the old days of the boss screen in computer games.

Travelocity is betraying its loyal customers by forcing them to use their travel certificates earned through their credit card in the next two months.

CitiBank is ceasing its relationship with Travelocity and has written card holders that they must “use or lose” their hundred dollar certificates by Feb. 28, 2006. I have spent 3 years accumulating $700 in travel rewards, and must find an excuse to use them in the next two months. It is outrageous that Travelocity has not given their customers more advance notice. Calls to customer service reps at CitiBank and Travelocity blame each other.
